Wooden beams upon your shoulders
Trudging up the hill
To be attacked and crucified
All for the Father’s will
Whispers from the Spirit say
The burdens we are to share
Gentle reminders of righteous living
Said with loving care
Lift the weight of those around
Being crushed beneath the wood
The faithful ones who know the Lord
Trying to live life as they should
Remind them with a whisper
That they are loved, adored
Not just by members all around
But by a loving Lord
Wooden beams upon His shoulders
Trudging to his death
Where He was attacked and crucified
So, believers could get rest
Death was not the end
Of the burden bearer’s life
It was just the beginning
Of Love overcoming strife
His sacrifice has lifted
The heavy wooden beams
Turn your eyes upon Him
Submit to the Supreme
Live in Him, and He in you
With eyes forever on Him
You will rest, He will perfect
The Spirit dwelling within
