Through This Trial

Through This Trial

-kb

Lord, walk with me through this trial

Hold my hand for a little while

Pace your feet in place of mine

Don't let go 'til You know I'm fine

Lord, talk with me through this trial

Whisper to me for a little while

Remind me, again, You're at my side

Listen to my praise, my prayer, my cries

Lord, guard me through this trial

Set Your sight here for a little while

Turn my eyes to You through this pain

Guide me, shelter me, in the midst of the rain

Lord, love me through this trial

Love me more than just a little while

Your Word bears fruit too good to be true

Affirming the hand, voice, and eyes are You

Truth

When the panic rises from my soul
I want to have somewhere to let it all go
It is only with you, Lord, that I can be me
My thoughts, my heart, my mind, you see

Yet you remain here, at my side
With all you see, you're here for the ride
Your knowledge of me should have you gone
You all perfect, and me, far from

Without your love, I couldn't go on
The panic would win and I'd be done
Life would be over, it would be for naught
Confusion and pain could no longer be fought

With great gratitude, I sit and praise
For the love you share on these panicky days
With a longing for peace and a longing for rest
Your forgiveness and power I will attest

Touch of a Hand

Walking alone, and you feel the hand touch
Thinking, why this just can't be
Running from pain, for life's troubled much
Now you know He looks down to see

The pain that's inside, the pain that surrounds
Thought lonely the walk you would take
But the Lord, He does know, the Lord is around
Through your glory, your pain, your mistakes

Hands held up high, knees bent down low
Tears that do run down your face
For you're all mixed up now, with the Love He does show
You feel warmth, joy, secure; yet, disgrace

For you knew He was there, but you treated Him bad
You turned your back, walking alone
Yet, with grace He provides, To make happy the sad
To bring all sinners back to their Home

It's with tears in your eyes, and love in your heart
That you ask for forgiveness from sin
It's with truth in the Word, and another fresh start
That your new life can finally begin

Repentance

Repentance

Lord, it's difficult to believe
That I am what you want
Sinful, unattractive soul
How come to me you point

When asked who are your children
Your finger reaches out
I look around to see behind
It's me, you leave no doubt

How can a Heavenly Father
Have a child from which sin pours
You answer, "Jesus Christ, my dear"
Who died to make me Yours

On this day, I bow down
To repent and to renew
A distant, lost, and lonely soul
That's on fire now for you

Tunnel Vision

Well, this was written yesterday. I think today, I see some light...but, I wanted to post..it's been awhile....

Tunnel Vision

Tunnel vision, how I see
Can't see outside of me
Know that brightness lies beyond
But, for now, remain in a bond

Light, warmth, for I long
Voices of a magic song
Cold,dark, damp in this place
Slow, monotony at this pace

Why is all I want to know
From up to down, I can go
How long does this tunnel run
Must be an end that shows the sun

My Christmas Poem

Wishing everyone many blessings this Christmas Season!!

God With Us

The blessed virgin Mary carried us our gift
She bore a son in Bethlehem to fulfill the Lord's wish
No man or woman deserves, the gift of this new babe
But, Jesus Christ was born to save us anyway

Joseph was his father, here on this lowly earth
Mary was his mother for she did give him birth
Yet, to the Heavenly Father, Jesus did belong
To think of Him as ordinary would doubtlessly be wrong

Joseph and Mary together, edified true faith
And Jesus taught us all a bit about our place
For when we're feeling mighty, like we're better than the rest
We need to be reminded that we're sinners at our best

When we're feeling lowly, not as good as those around
We must recall faith in Christ, makes us heaven bound
Hence, Jesus was delivered that initial Christmas Day
To counsel all sinners, to make clear the way

He opened the sky, allowing heaven to shine down
He humbled himself, wore the thorn cloaked crown
He came to us in a stable and slept by the sheep
Yet, He lives in our hearts and stays nearby when we weep

He's present when we smile, attendant when we yell
He's our mighty Savior who overcame hell
All powerful love wrapped within a babe that morn
Emmanuel, God with us, on Christmas Day was born

Happy Thanksgiving!

True Thanks

On Thanksgiving Day, it's easy to forget -
to be engrossed in food, fun, and let
the greatest of All be completely forgotten
The Father's gift to all the begotten

The Lord came to dwell on the earth He made
for the lives that turned themselves away
from His love, from His joy, from His paradise -
lives that sinned without thinking twice

Until the consequences had settled in
And the people comprehended what was sin
For the tree did teach about evil and good
yet they still tried to claim they misunderstood

"Oh, it's not my fault, for he was here -
and it's not my fault, she didn't care -
It was the snake that did lie and tricked me so
It wasn't us, Lord, keep us white as snow"

But the damage was done and in settled dark
on the souls that continued to remark
they knew now life that the Lord provided
was the better way - all remain divided

Murder, jealousy, sin of all kind
Set upon earth, set into their minds -
Generations continue to pass it on
Failing to also pass on the Son

He is the answer, the way, the light -
He is the truth of all that is right
Jesus came and died for all sins
He fought the serpent and He did win

His redemption passed to one and all-
those who answer the Lord's call
For faith in Christ is all that's required
to submit one's life to He most admired -

Jesus Christ, Our King of kings
The one to whom the angels sing -
He's the Love of the world and He's calling You
Submit your life to Him; that's what you must do

This Thanksgiving, with family and friends
Shout that the Lord has won the end
Speak of thanks, mercy, humility, love
So those at your table spend eternity above
